Broken Hill to Mungo, NSW
In and around Broken Hill and south to Mungo National Park, including Menindee and Willandra
Follow the rail line to the outback
Might end up doing this if you're not careful
Quite a mailbox
The drought-stricken Darling River at Wilcannia
Would-be swimmers walk across the river instead
A lone sheep in drought

Sculpture Symposium at the Living Desert out of Broken Hill
One of the fascinating sculptures at the Symposium
The project brought artists from all over the world
Moving on
We come to Silverton, where a local municipal pollie takes a break...
and heads across the street...
to meet a prospective constiuent
Not many things were open in Silverton
I guess he felt the grass would be greener
A rusted out hulk that is one person's trash...
...might become another's treasure
The Cafe was also closed
But the surrounds offered a bit of character
And a few artifacts
A typical headstone
The drought strikes in many ways
This dust devil made it all the way to Sydney, 1000km away!
Much sadness seen in the drought-stricken outback
Jawbone
A Bluebonnet Parrot joins the Dead Parrots Society
A Bearded Dragon is one of the few able to survive
Blue tongue lizard near Willandra also relishes the warmth

Gateway to by-gone era
